The OptumCare Group Benefits Plan partnered with Maven and Optum to bring you enhanced support at every stage. Maven's virtual care model provides 24/7 access to comprehensive, inclusive care for all families needing support on their family building and fertility, maternity and infant care, and menopause journeys. This includes support for adoption and surrogacy.
For individuals needing access to additional fertility support (preservation, IUI, IVF), Fertility Solutions Plus combines Maven's end-to-end services with one-on-one clinical guidance from Optum fertility nurses who can help navigate fertility options and find Centers of Excellence (COEs) for specialized care.
The OptumCare Group Benefits Plan is offering access to these programs for employees and their spouse or domestic partner and child dependents 18 years or older enrolled in an eligible medical plan* at no additional cost.

Who is eligible for Maven?
Maven services are offered through the following component medical plans of the OptumCare Group Benefits Plan: Accountable Care, Doctors Plan, HSA Plan, HSA Plan – Union, OptumCare EPO Plan, OptumCare EPO Plan – Union, OptumCare NE Plan, Surest Copay Plan and Surest Copay Plan – Union. In order to be eligible you must be an employee or their spouse or domestic partner or child dependent 18 years or older enrolled in an eligible medical plan.*
You are eligible for the Maven Maternity program if you or your eligible dependent is pregnant, if you are a support parent of a member who is pregnant or has delivered, have experienced a miscarriage or infant loss, or are the parent of a baby who is under the age of 12 months (including adoptive parents or parents through surrogacy).
Who is considered the “sponsored individual” during enrollment?
The primary policy holder of the eligible medical plan is the “sponsored individual”.
How much does Maven cost, and how does it work with my health insurance?
You don’t need to worry about out-of-pocket costs because Maven is provided at no cost to you as part of your health plan.
What types of specialists can I connect with through Maven?
You can video chat and message anytime with specialists who can assist with fertility and family building, maternity and infant care, and menopause. These include 35+ types of specialists, such as reproductive endocrinologists, OB/GYNs, midwives, doulas, mental health coaches, adoption and surrogacy coaches, nutritionists, physical therapists, pediatricians, lactation consultants, sleep coaches, parenting experts, career coaches, and more.
How does Fertility Solutions Plus support me on my path to parenthood?
The path to parenthood isn't always easy and may look different for everyone. Fertility Solutions Plus combines Maven’s coaching and education with one-on-one clinical guidance from Optum's fertility nurses to offer enhanced support for all paths to parenthood. Get expert case management and access to Optum's centers of excellence for all stages of fertility treatment, plus continuous access to Maven's content, virtual specialists, and communities. Consider joining Fertility Solutions Plus for support with preconception, fertility treatments (preservation, IUI, IVF), adoption and surrogacy.
Upon joining Maven, you’ll meet with your dedicated Care Advocate. Members who indicate that they’re seeking fertility treatment support will be referred to an Optum Fertility Nurse for clinical guidance. Your Optum Fertility Nurse will work with you to create a care plan based on your health assessment and help you find Fertility Centers of Excellence to get treatment. Maven will continue to be a supportive resource, providing coaching and education from Maven providers, a library of content, and on-demand classes.
What happens at the end of my program?
Prior to your program ending, you will receive communications from Maven alerting you that your program is nearing completion. Contact Benefit Advocates at 1-844-585-1466 with any questions.
What if I already have an in-person OB-GYN or Reproductive Endocrinologist?
You can continue to see your chosen providers and video chat with Maven providers for guidance and second opinions. Our providers include a range of specialists you might not have access to—from fertility doctors and adoption coaches to mental health specialists, doulas, nutritionists and physical therapists. Your Care Advocate can also help you find in-person providers within your medical plan if you’d like.
How does Maven support partners?
Eligible partners can sign up with their own account and benefit from the same provider appointments, articles, videos, and virtual classes. Those enrolled in Maternity or Fertility programs also receive content that’s specific to the partner experience.
Do Maven’s providers speak languages other than English?
Maven has options to connect with providers that speak over 35 different languages, including Spanish, Mandarin, Hindi, French, German, Hebrew and many others. In addition, Maven offers simultaneous translation similar to what you might experience in a hospital or clinic if you didn’t speak the same language as the provider. Your Care Advocate can help you navigate to the best providers to fit your needs.
